Plot to lobby PM against Bainimarama

Ratu Tevita Mara. (Photo: pacificscoop.co.nz)FIJIAN political fugitive Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara is planning to lobby Prime Minister Danny Philip to turn against Fiji interim prime minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama, the Pacific Media Watch reported.
It has been reported the Fiji Freedom and Democracy Movement led by Ratu Mara and Fiji's former Land Force Commander Jone Baledrokadroka admitted that in-order for their plan to be successful, they have to gain support from all the MSG leaders.
"We are still trying to lobby the MSG, especially the Solomon Islands and make appointments with their leaders and even go and visit them in their country," they told Pacific Media Watch.
It is understood the group has gained the support of Samoa's prime minister but really need support from the MSG leaders before the Pacific Islands Forum in Auckland in September.
That is when they are planning to present their 10-point Transitional Plan for Democracy in Fiji and try and convince the Pacific leaders to work with them.
Earlier this week, Ratu Mara has accused Prime Minister Danny Philip of supporting what he described as an 'unelected, illegal and corrupt' Fiji regime.
Ratu Mara accused Prime Minister Philip for playing an instrumental part in helping Bainimarama obtained the MSG chairmanship.
Ratu Mara is planning to visit the Solomon Islands as he plans to make a whirlwind tour to the US and around the Pacific over the next month to promote his "pro-democracy" cause.
However, it is still unclear whether he would be meeting the Prime Minister when he arrives in Honiara.
The Pacific Media Watch reported that Ratu Mara is expected to face problems visiting MSG countries as Bainimarama plans to send extradition papers to every country Ratu Mara visits.
Attempts to talk to the prime minister's press secretary David Tuhanuku for a response from Prime Minister Philip were unsuccessful.
